Sarah Pollitt

Family Therapist / Couples Counsellor / Social Worker

I believe every person experiences difficulties for different reasons at some point in their lives. I work collaboratively with people to support them to recognise, understand and strengthen their current resources whilst building and integrating new ways of being to increase connection and reduce distress.

I am an accredited mental health social worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers and clinical family therapist. I understand coming to therapy can be a big step and provide a safe, respectful space to work through challenges together.

I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all in a therapy and therefore take a flexible integrated approach to establish what will work for each individual or family. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Havening Techniques. I am a facilitator for the Tuning into Teens Program designed to increases connection, understanding and communication between parent and child through the adolescent phase of development.

At In Dialogue I work with individuals, couples and families experiencing a range of difficulties including situational stress such as relationship conflict, bullying, trauma, parenting concerns and the impacts of mental health illness such as, but not limited to, depression and anxiety. I also provide clinical supervision.
